Corvette parking starts here… Dennis Saiki and Alan Zane, members of the Aloha Mustang and Shelby Club and the Corvette Club of Hawaii

I thought, for sure I’d be ahead of everyone when I arrived at 8:15 a.m. at Cars and Coffee Aikahi. I was so wrong.

As soon as I entered the shopping center, men were telling me where to park my car. And as I turned my wheel to obey, I saw a row of Corvettes neatly lined up and perfectly staged. The Corvette Club of Hawaii was in total control!

When I caught up with Dennis Shewell, President of the Corvette Club, I mentioned how impressed I was with their club. He said, “That’s how we roll,” and “I owe it to Charles Owen, Gary Kahn and Peter Robb for getting it so organized.”

Soon to roll in were the Audi Group of Hawaii (AGOH), led by President Drew McGovern. He brought with him two of the latest Audi models to hit the showroom.

The recently organized AGOH appears well on their way to building and supporting the Audi owners in Hawaii. They made their Cars and Coffee debut at the April event at the Ala Moana Center. (See the photo gallery.)

Drew said “I want to thank Audi Honolulu for bringing the 2018 A5 Coupe and A5 Sportback. I also want to thank all the members of Audi Group of Hawaii who attended.”

Speaking of first timers…

Jimmy Mahokey and Garrick Ferreira, of Elite Trades, showcased Chemical Guys car care products at their tent. Assisted by their crew, Chris, Tony, Ben and Glenn, visitors were helped with information about the products and car care.

Jimmy and Garrick donated three door prize giveaways of Chemical Guys products. Cars and Coffee Hawaii thanks Elite Trades for signing on as a sponsor for the next year.

Big Mahalo to…

Dennis Shewell, Drew McGovern and to all the members of the Corvette Club of Hawaii and the Audi Group of Hawaii for hosting. They did a magnificent job with traffic and with the door prize giveaways.

Hawaii Pot Shabu Shabu House, the shopping center’s newest tenant, saw our event and quickly ran out to give us a bunch of discount coupons for shabu shabu meals to give away. Mahalo Hawaii Pot!

It was a morning full of wet, but the dedicated and brave came anyway.

The all new 2017 Porsche Panamera made its Hawaii debut courtesy of Porsche of Hawaii. Boasting new engine packages, interior and exterior restyling, the completely redesigned sedan may be a winner. Porsche representative Ashe Eyre was on hand to answer questions and brought a beautiful white model for exhibit.

Brandon and Helen Gima in front of the 2017 Porsche Panamera. They like their BRZ, but this might look good in their garage.

Many thanks go to John Meyers and the Porsche Club of Hawaii for hosting this event. They helped with traffic control and the door prize giveaways. Eric Baranda of 76 Hawaii was also on hand to cover the event with videographer Allan Fang. Finally, mahalos go to Gabor Paczolay for his help with photography.
