This organizational change has been in development for many months and is only the first step of more to come. Several years ago the Mercedes-Benz Club Hawaii Section adopted Cars and Coffee as a project to support all automobile enthusiasts of Hawaii. We have come to the point where we now need more help and support to continue its development. We believe that by reorganizing Cars and Coffee Hawaii as a members supported and managed organization we can more effectively serve our mission.
We are putting out a call for members to support the group and help develop programs to benefits everyone.
Even though Cars and Coffee Hawaii is moving toward better organization one thing will remain the same: Our events will continue to be free and open to automobile enthusiasts.
Membership dues are $30 annually. Members will receive a membership card and a hangtag for display at events. The hangtag will be good until the end of 2020.

Cars and Coffee Hawaii will ask for your kokua this Sunday, July 28, at the Pearl City Gateway event. We’re featuring two fundraising themes that will include a People’s Choice Competition in the Car and Bike Show.
Keith Wertelka, president of the 808 Camaros Car Club, asked that we include the Kruzin 4 Kady benefit for the July 2019 Cars and Coffee at Pearl City Gateway. We just had to say “yes!”
Rachel and Ben Baranek’s daughter, Kady, passed on June 7th this year from Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). It is a rare form of cancer that starts in the brain stem of young children. A cure for this disease has not yet been discovered. We ask for your help with donations to help the Baranek’s with the financial burden and to help with cancer research to find a cure.

Cars and Coffee was started by Ron Rizzi in 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia as a vehicle to educate people about brain cancers and tumors. Supporting the Kruzin 4 Kady Benefit returns Cars and Coffee to this original mission.
Cars and Coffee Hawaii will also launch its Drive for School Supplies project with this event. AutoZone Pearl City is hoping to adopt this program to provide school supplies for at-risk children attending public schools. The first beneficiary for this ongoing project is the Pearl City Highlands Elementary School.
No child should go without basic supplies that make their educational experience productive. Hawaii’s public schools serve an estimated 3,000 homeless students and many others considered “at-risk.” Thanks to donations of classroom supplies, these students may have what’s needed for classwork — backpacks, notebooks, pens, etc. They often have a need for footwear, shoes and slippers.
